Biography

Ulisse Stefanelli is Professor of Applied Mathematics and Modeling at the University of Vienna. He has published more than 170 research articles in international journals. His research spans different areas of Applied Mathematics, with particular emphasis on the Calculus of Variations, Partial Differential Equations, nonlinear analysis, continuum mechanics, rate-independent systems, gradient flows, evolution equations, and variational approaches to materials science and mechanics. He has been awarded several prestigious research grants, including an ERC Starting Grant.
