Thesis topic: The research focuses on the lifetime seismic performance of deteriorating RC bridges. Corrosion is the most relevant deterioration phenomenon affecting RC bridges, and its evaluation is a complex multivariate problem. The effects of corrosion on seismic response are evaluated through refined modeling techniques. The implications of concrete cracking on durability and seismic performance are investigated through a probabilistic framework. Finally, a PBEE-consistent lifetime assessment framework is proposed, using both advanced and simplified seismic analysis approaches.
