Co-Supervisor: Prof. Alessandro Caimi

Thesis topic: The aim of the project is to have a fully comprehension of the mechanical properties of the human ascending aortic tissues from pathological and healthy patients. The test methodologies used are uniaxial, biaxial tensile test and nanoindentation test. The final objective is to relate the characteristics extracted ex vivo with the information obtained via pre-operative CT scan to provide more accurate clinical indications.
