Thesis topic: The aim of the project is to design biomimetic engineered cell culture platforms for in vitro studies in a scalable manner. Platforms including various degree of biomimicry (biomechanical, architectural, biochemical cues) are fabricated with optical techniques, populated with cells from immortalised lines or differentiated from stem cells, and interrogated via microscopy or electrical readouts. The final goal is to prototype more physiologically relevant and accessible cell culture models for drug screening.
